WIAW!!!

What’s up with WIAW craze? Ok, maybe I’m too old to understand but in order to be fashionable I’m doing it today:

Morning coffee

Breakfast :
Salad with feta, olives, greens, peppers, tomatoes and EVOO.
I guess someday I’ll do a post about me living in Greece for two years . There I fell in love with feta, EVOO, sea food and white wine. Every time I have a Greek salad want to go back there.

Lunch:
Chicken breast, rice and a salad.

Snack/dinner:
Octopus in olive oil.

Tuna, egg and cucumber.

Dessert: I ate more than a half of the thing!

The END

Is there any food you fell in love in the foreign country?

  1. yes! i met an englishman on match.com once, and we traveled together! while in aruba with him, i drank a "green iguana." it was some sort of extremely excellent alcoholic beverage characterised with a green froth on top (and it was not made with cream, but i still don't understand exactly how the aruban bartender on the sea concocted it!) . . . and i don't remember what it exactly contained . . . but it was probably the most scrumptious beverage that i've ever consumed! i've never had it again, but i know that i love it; and i'll always remember it fondly! i can't wait to visit italy, greece, and france to experience their culture and food. i want to eat pasta in rome like julia roberts did in "eat pray love." and i LOVE octopus! this might sound like a really really really stupid question, but your profile mentions that you're in a "small country," or something like that. i'm not sure in exactly which country you live! you must tell me because when i talk about you, people think i'm making you up . . . since i say, "she's from this small country in europe." it sounds so imaginary! i hope you're having a really happy day, and i can't wait to read your next blog entry! :) xx

  2. ps: i love that your mug boasts the letter of "G!" in my "powder room," i decorate with towels boasting the letter of "G." my best friend said to me once, "what does that stand for? why does your towel say G?" and then we laughed and laughed and laughed . . . because clearly, we all should know what it means . . . gwendolyn! :)

  3. My, dear octopus lover friend, I would have octopus for all my meals – but it’s too expensive so I buy mine canned. It tastes pretty good, but not as good as in some old Greek tavernas.
And the drink you’ve described sounds deliciously exotic as well as the country you’ve been to.
I live in Lithuania, near the Baltic Sea. I can’t really say that I enjoy here much. I’ve tried to move to other counties and successfully lived there, but somehow returned to my home land. I still think that I will be changing my residence place.
Have you ever thought of moving out of your county?
Give all the best to your little puggle she is my G friend!

  6. Oh,Sable, you should definitely try it. As for the taste – well, it tastes like octopus:) It is not as rubbery or chewy as squid, i found it easier to chew yet still slightly chewy. OK it honestly tastes like chewy chicken. Its so good!!! :)
